He was raised in Jesup, IA, and was a 1964 graduate of Don Bosco High School in Gilbertville, IA. On June 12, 1971 he married Janice Marie Seemann at the St. John’s Catholic Church in Independence, IA. I always enjoyed visiting with Ken on Sundays after the 8:00 AM Mass at St. Pat's in Winthrop. Having been retired from John Deere for several years, it was always interesting to visit with him. I always wondered why a nice, clean-cut man like Ken was single. Little did I know, until I read his obituary, that he had indeed been married and that his wife had passed away years earlier. It just goes to show a person should never judge a book by its cover! I was particularly surprised to read Ken's obituary in the Saturday, June 1, 2019 edition of the Bulletin Journal, which we did not receive by mail until Wednesday, June 12, 2019. I'm amazed that we were almost identical in age! Maybe there is a place in heaven for Ken to be working on John Deere tractors?

Saw the Jesup Citizen Herald online today about Kenneth. He once told Mary Knebel, "30 years of work and 30 years of retirement." At least there were good people around that he knew. And good professional care. That should have helped a lot, in some ways. Marvin Knebel
